Randy accepted the role of Director of Youth Faith Formation in the summer of 2025. Previously he had served as the Director of Youth Ministry from 2010-2025. As Director of YFF, Randy oversees Grades 9-12 specifically and rest of the Youth Faith Formation & Youth Ministry Staff. 

Randy was raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and came to Ankeny via Madison Wisconsin in 2010. Randy attended Catholic school grade PK-12 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at St. Pius X and then Regis High school.  He received his BA in Religious Studies from University of Iowa and his Masters in Religious Studies & Theology from Edgewood College in Madison Wisconsin. He received his Certificate of Spiritual Direction from Creighton University in 2020. 

He has been a lay youth minister for 20 years, which he considers a joy, and celebrates having done so with his wife and best friend Abby Henderson, the Communications Director here at OLIH.  They live in Ankeny with their 5 children.
