Stephen Ministry: A Confidential Lay Ministry of Support
We all experience challenges in life--times when we could benefit from the support of a caring Christian friend. Stephen Ministers are ready to provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty. Stephen Ministry is confidential. The identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remains private.
Stephen Ministry multiplies care. Pastors will always be on the front lines of care, especially during times of crisis. But there is always much more need for ongoing, one-to-one care, than pastors can effectively meet by themselves. We provide a biblical solution - equipping God’s people for ministry. Gifted lay people are trained to support and extend the care that pastors continue to provide. We reach out with God's love to people who are hurting.

Interested in becoming a Stephen Minister and want to learn more?
Stephen Leaders are trained lay leaders in our parish who oversee and direct our Stephen Ministry. They receive extensive training in providing emotional and spiritual caregiving. They will "be there" for their care receiver, meeting regularly for about an hour each week, for as long as there's a need. They listen, encourage, keep confidences, pray with & for you, and provide one-to-one support. While they are not professional counselors, they are dedicated to walking alongside you when you face tough times and need support.
If you are ready to say YES to continuing your discernment to become a Stephen Minister, you may fill out our online application, or download this form , fill it out and bring it to the parish office. Your application will be reviewed and we will contact you to set-up an interview.
